COMPLETE 101

The Oregon Coast Pathway is a bold vision to build a multi-use pathway from Astoria to Brookings that would be completely accessible to users of all ages and abilities. This would be an unprecedented and ambitious project without any directly comparable example in the United States.

DISASTER RELIEF TRIALS (DRT)

A disaster response drill in the form of a cargo bike competition simulating a day-4 post-earthquake supply run. PEDALPALOOZA BIKE SUMMER

Pedalpalooza BIKE SUMMER is a three month festival which supports more than 300 community-led rides in the Portland Metro Area.

PORTLAND BICYCLE SUPPORT FUND

SHIFT

SHIFT revels in expressing Portland’s creative bike culture through bike fun events intended to highlight the positive contributions of bicycling for the community at large. We have a small online presence (web & mailing list). Events are DIY by the community - we just give folks a platform to do their funnest work on.

SHIFT was born of the fond memories of BikeSummer, which was an annual event that came to Portland in 2002, and we have celebrated each subsequent summer with our largest work - Pedalpalooza - an annual summer bike fun festival that still parties in the streets every year! Many spin offs - the PDX World Naked Bike Ride, Breakfast on the Bridges, and more - have come out of the Portland bike fun community that SHIFT is a vibrant part of.

ST. JOHNS BIZARRE

The St. Johns Bizarre is a uniquely crafted celebration that kicks off the summer street fair season in Portland. Held annually on the second Saturday in May, the Bizarre brings music, crafts, and food to the crowds who traditionally attended the St. Johns Parade. After the parade, a portion of the business district in St. Johns is closed to traffic and filled with over 135 juried craft vendors, several stages for music, great food, and tons of games and activities.

WHY ISN'T ANYONE TALKING ABOUT THIS?

The 'Why Isn't Anyone Talking About This?' podcast is an inquisitive, authentic look into the relationship between justice and the built environment. Conversations with leaders, fighters, and everyday people hoping and working for change.

WORLD NAKED BIKE RIDE

It's a protest against traffic violence, oil dependence, and body shaming. Many cities have World Naked Bike Rides, but Portland's is the largest and, in our opinion, the most fun. This year's event will take place Saturday, August 12th, 2023.

A lighthearted protest against our societies dependence on fossil fuels, a commentary on the vulnerability of cyclists (why we're naked) and an opportunity to celebrate diversity in the human body. The WNBR is also just goofy fun.
